Day Trading Hours
Intraday trading hours for the GLOBEX session, which includes the CME, CBOT, NYMEX, and COMEX exchanges, run from 5:00 PM to 4:00 PM US Central Time, Sunday through Friday.
The overnight period refers to the brief daily window between the close of one trading session and the open of the next. On Globex, this occurs from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM Central Time Monday through Thursday, and from 5:00 PM CT Friday until 5:00 PM CT Sunday when the market reopens. The weekday 60-minute break is a scheduled exchange maintenance window, not a platform or connection issue. During this time, no orders can be placed, modified, or canceled, and open positions cannot be closed.
Daylight Saving Time: US Central Time alternates between UTC-6 (Central Standard Time, November through March) and UTC-5 (Central Daylight Time, March through November). Traders in fixed-offset or non-DST time zones should account for this seasonal shift when calculating local market open and close times.

Holiday Trading Hours
U.S. and global holidays can often affect open trading hours for some or all exchanges. The holiday trading hours for this year may be viewed here: 2026 Holiday Trading Hours
Upcoming holidays can also be viewed on the Upcoming Events Calendar within the KGI Crusoe platform.
Weekend Trading
The futures market closes each Friday at 4:00 PM CT and does not reopen until 5:00 PM CT on Sunday. This means trading is unavailable for all of Saturday and the majority of Sunday. During this window, no orders can be placed, modified, or canceled, and open positions will remain in their current state until the market reopens Sunday night.

Margin Violations
The day trading session at KGI Crusoe ends 15 minutes before the market closes, at 3:45 PM US Central Time.
If your live account does not have sufficient funds to meet the Initial Margin Requirements for any open positions, the Orders Desk will automatically liquidate those positions, and your account may incur a $50 Margin Violation fee.
To avoid this, ensure all open positions are closed at least 15 minutes before market close (by 3:45 PM Central Time) if you do not have enough funds to cover the required Initial Margin.
Margin violations can also occur if your account falls below the Intraday Margin Requirements while holding an open position during trading hours, not just at the market close. Additional Notes
Intraday hours vs Market Close: Trades can be opened and closed at any time during Intraday (Day) trading hours. However, during market close periods, open positions cannot be modified or closed, and new orders cannot be submitted.
Weekend gap risk: Prices can move over the weekend due to news or world events, but the market is closed so you can't react. When trading resumes Sunday night, a contract can open well above or below where it closed Friday; this "gap" happens instantly and can work for or against any position held over the weekend.
