Getting Started

The KGI Crusoe demo is a simulated trading environment. You place orders against live CME Group market prices using virtual funds, so the experience closely reflects real trading while none of your own money is at risk.

How the demo works

When you register, we create a demo account funded with a virtual balance of USD 100,000. You can use this balance to trade futures on the KGI Crusoe platform exactly as you would with a live account. Profits and losses are calculated using real market prices, but they are simulated and have no cash value. They cannot be withdrawn, transferred or carried over to a live account.

Your demo account remains available throughout the demo phase. We will notify you before any changes are made to demo access.

What you can do

  • Trade: Place, modify and cancel orders, including market, limit and stop orders.

  • Analyze: Use charts, technical indicators, drawing tools and chart trading to plan and manage your trades.

  • Monitor: Review your open positions, working orders, trade history and account performance.

  • Review reports: Access account statements and activity reports to track your simulated results.

  • Customize: Set up your workspace, layouts and preferences to suit how you trade.

  • Learn at your own pace: Test strategies, explore unfamiliar contracts and build confidence with the platform before committing real funds.

Markets available

The demo gives you access to futures contracts listed on the four CME Group exchanges:

  • CME

  • CBOT

  • NYMEX

  • COMEX

These cover a broad range of markets, including equity indices, interest rates, currencies, energy, metals and agriculture. Contract availability in the demo may differ from what is offered at live launch.

Market data

Users who registered during the launch period may receive 4 weeks* of free CME market data on their demo account, subject to CME approval and the terms of the offer. See Free CME Market Data for Early Users for details.

How the demo differs from live trading

The demo is designed to be realistic, but simulated trading cannot fully reproduce live market conditions. Please keep the following in mind:

  • Order fills: Demo orders are filled by a simulation engine. In live markets, fills depend on available liquidity, so prices and timing may differ, particularly in fast or thinly traded markets.

  • Slippage: Live orders may be filled at a less favourable price than expected. The demo may not reflect this accurately.

  • Emotional factors: Trading with virtual money does not carry the same pressure as trading with your own funds. Results achieved in the demo do not guarantee similar results in live trading.

  • Fees and margin: Commissions, exchange fees and margin requirements shown in the demo are for illustration and may differ from those applied to live accounts.

What is not available yet

Functions that relate to live trading are hidden or disabled during the demo phase. These include:

  • Modify Balance: You cannot adjust your demo balance directly. If you need your balance reset or changed, please raise a support ticket. See Resetting Your Demo Balance.

  • Deposits and withdrawals: No real funds can be added to or withdrawn from a demo account.

  • Live account opening: Applications for live accounts will open at a later date. Registered users will be notified by email.

What we do not need from you

As no money is involved in the demo, we do not require identity documents, proof of address or bank account details at this stage. These will only be requested when you apply for a live account, as part of our identity verification and account opening process.

Please do not send personal documents to our support team during the demo phase.

Getting help

If you have questions about the demo or need assistance, you can reach us through the in-app chatbot or by raising a support ticket. For account-specific requests, please raise a support ticket from your registered email address so we can verify your account.
