Looking for a Volume Profile?

The KGI Crusoe platform does not include a built-in Volume Profile indicator. However, volume profile functionality is available through the Bid-Ask Volume chart style, which can display a volume profile for each TPO profile. Learn more here: Bid-Ask Volume Charts

Important: Indicators in the KGI Crusoe platform cannot be moved or docked to the side of the chart. Indicators can only be displayed directly over the price data (Overlay) or in their own panel below the price data (Area). A vertical Volume Profile displayed in the chart's side margin is only available with the Order Flow+ Volume Profile on KGI Crusoe Web.

Customizing Indicators

To customize an indicator already added to your chart, double-click on it to open its Properties menu.

Alternatively, you can click the Configure icon (third from the right) that appears when hovering over the chart to customize any Indicators on your Chart. You can temporarily hide individual indicators by clicking the eye icon or remove them by clicking the trash can icon.

Common Indicator Properties

Below are some common indicator properties that you may find available for most, if not all, built-in indicators on the KGI Crusoe platform.

Parameter Name

Definition

Line Styles

Line styles allow you to customize the visual appearance of each plot printed by an indicator. This includes:

  • Color: Choose via color picker, Hex/RGB, or common list.

  • Thickness: Adjust line width (5 available styles).

  • Style: Solid or dashed (5 available styles).

  • Opacity: Transparency slider (0–100%). Default: 100%.

Show Value

When enabled, a horizontal line is drawn across the chart with the plot's current value displayed on the Y-axis. Disabled by default.

Period

The Period parameter defines the number of data points (bars, candles, or time units) used in the indicator’s calculation.

  • Shorter = more sensitive, faster response

  • Longer = smoother, slower response

Input

Specifies the data source used in the indicator’s calculation (e.g., Data Series, Close, High, Low, Open)

Visible

Toggles the indicator's visibility on the chart.

  • Can also be toggled for each Indicator via the Configure dropdown.

Shift

The Shift parameter controls the horizontal offset of an indicator’s plot on the chart, effectively moving it forward or backward in time. This doesn’t change the indicator’s calculations, only its visual position.

  • A positive shift moves the indicator forward (to the right), projecting it ahead of the current price.

  • A negative shift moves it backward (to the left), aligning it with past bars.

Overlay/Area

Overlay: Plots the indicator directly over the Data Series.
Area: Plots indicator in its own panel below the Data Series in the same Chart module.
These are the only available placement options; indicators cannot be moved to the side of the chart.

All moving average indicators are plotted using a single line overlaying the Data Series on the Chart.

Indicator

Description & Notable Parameters

EMA

The Exponential Moving Average (EMA) is a type of moving average that gives more weight to recent prices, making it more responsive to current market conditions than a Simple Moving Average (SMA).

HMA

The Hull Moving Average (HMA) is a smoother, faster-moving average designed to reduce lag while maintaining accuracy in trend detection. It uses weighted moving averages and a special formula to react quickly to price changes.

SMA

The Simple Moving Average (SMA) calculates the average closing price over a specific number of periods, giving equal weight to each data point.

TMA

The Triangular Moving Average (TMA) applies a double-smoothing process to price data, resulting in a slower response for a clearer look at the underlying price trend.

WMA

The Weighted Moving Average (WMA) assigns greater importance to more recent prices by applying linearly decreasing weights to older data points. This makes it more responsive to current price movements than a Simple Moving Average while still providing a smooth view of the overall trend.

Oscillators

Oscillator indicators are commonly used to gauge market momentum, as they fluctuate between set levels to signal potential overbought or oversold conditions.
