How to Set Up and Use Hotkeys?

Hot Keys in the KGI Crusoe platform are fully customizable and can be used for functions such as order entry, module management, and quick navigation around your workspace.

How to Enable Hot Keys

Hot Keys are disabled by default in the KGI Crusoe platform. To enable them before configuring, follow the steps below.

Step 1

After logging in, click Application Settings in the top-right corner of the screen, then select the Preferences tab. Scroll down to the Hot Keys section and toggle it on.

Step 2

Click the blue Edit Hot Keys button to open the Hot Key Editor and set up your commands and key combinations.

Configuring Hot Keys

After clicking Edit Hot Keys, you'll be taken to the Hot Key Editor, where you can configure your preferred hot keys using any key combination.

The Hot Key Editor is organized into sections. Click the arrow on the right side of each section to expand and view the available hot keys.

Assigning Hot Keys

To assign a hot key, toggle it on, click the blank text box, then press your desired key combination all at once on your keyboard.

After pressing your key combination, click anywhere else on the page. A green banner at the top of the screen confirms the hot key was saved successfully, or explains why it wasn't if there was an issue.

Resetting Hot Keys

To reset or remove an individual hot key, click the Reset button next to its configuration text box.

To reset all configured hot keys, click the Restore Default button at the top of the Hot Key Editor page. Note: This action cannot be undone. You will need to manually remap all hot keys if you choose to restore defaults.

Using Hot Keys in Your Workspace

After setting up your hot key combinations, return to your workspace to start using them.

If a hot key is tied to a specific module, such as a chart, you'll need to enable that module for hot key use by clicking the H button at the top right of the module.

When Hot Keys are toggled on for a specific module, a small keyboard icon appears at the top-left next to the contract symbol. Click this icon to quickly disable hot keys for that module.
