How to Save and Load Workspaces?

If KGI Crusoe platform opens with a blank screen, or you want your charts and layout to re-appear from your previous session when you log in, Workspaces let you save and restore your full trading setup.

Workspaces are customized environments that let you organize your trading layout, charts, and other modules to your preference, allowing for quick and easy switching between setups.

Do Workspaces Sync Across Platforms?

No. Workspaces are platform-specific. A workspace created in KGI Crusoe platform, including your charts, layout, drawing objects, and module settings, does not sync or transfer to the KGI Crusoe. Each platform uses its own unique workspace format, so your layout must be built separately on each platform you use.

Note: The export and import feature described below transfers workspaces between KGI Crusoe platform sessions only, such as another computer, browser, or user. 

Saving Custom Workspaces

To save your current layout as a new Workspace or update an existing one, follow these steps:

Step 1

Click the + (New) button at the top-left corner of the KGI Crusoe platform.

Step 2

To save as a new Workspace, enter a custom name in the "New Template Name" text box, then click Save.

To overwrite an existing Workspace, click the name of the Workspace you want to update from the list.

Once saved, you'll be returned to your trading layout automatically. The name of the Workspace you are currently viewing is labeled in your browser tab for easy reference.

Managing Workspace Templates

From the + (New) menu, you can manage your saved Workspaces and access the default layouts included in the web trader.

To delete a Workspace, hover over its name and click the Trash Can icon. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.

Selecting Reset Default Workspace reverts the default layout to its original settings, discarding any saved changes.

Exporting & Importing Workspaces

Exporting and importing Workspaces allows you to back up your custom layouts, transfer them between devices or users, and share them with friends or colleagues. This works between KGI Crusoe platform sessions only; see Do Workspaces Sync Across Platforms? above.

To export a Workspace, hover over its name in the + (New) menu and click the up arrow icon. This downloads the Workspace as a .json file to your computer.

To import a Workspace, click Import From File in the + (New) menu and select the .json file from your device. This can be done after moving the file to another machine, logging into a different user, or receiving it from someone else.

Platform Appears Blank or Not Loading

If your platform appears blank or your layout is not loading, your Workspace may have been reset. First, check whether your Workspace was previously saved by opening the + (New) menu and looking for it in the list. If it is there, click on it to reload your layout.

If your Workspace was not saved or your layout is missing, you will need to reconfigure it and save it using the steps in the Saving Custom Workspaces section above. For guidance on re-adding modules and rebuilding your layout, please refer to the Module Management article.
