Up Bars are typically painted green by default, representing a price increase.
Down Bars are typically painted red by default, representing a price decrease.
The position of the left and right ticks on each bar is crucial for interpreting OHLC charts. When the right-facing tick is higher than the left-facing tick, it denotes an up bar; conversely, when the left-facing tick is higher, it signifies a down bar. The vertical line between the ticks illustrates the trading range, with its extremities representing the High and Low prices, regardless of the bar's direction.
Interpreting OHLC Bars
Up Bar (Bullish): The right-facing tick (Close price) is higher than the left-facing tick (Open price), suggesting an upward price movement.
Down Bar (Bearish): The right-facing tick (Close price) is lower than the left-facing tick (Open price), indicating a downward price movement.
